Types of clinical case scenarios of the project “Global electronic database of clinical case scenarios “ClinCaseQuest””

Clinical Case Simulator, Clinical Situation Simulation, Practical Skill Simulator, Interactive Case Study

The Global electronic database of clinical case scenarios “ClinCaseQuest” contains various types of scenarios (simulators) of clinical cases.

A clinical case simulator is a presentation of a clinical case in the format of a computer simulation of a clinical situation with the presentation of data from laboratory and instrumental research methods, theoretical data on a particular nosology, clinical international guidelines, dialogue trainers, interactivity, test simulators, logically built into the structure of a clinical case; has a branched structure, various locations and imitates a computer game with a feeling of deep immersion in a clinical diagnostic task.

Standardized patient – a person with a present or absent disease (often a specially trained actor) is trained to behave like a real patient to demonstrate certain complaints, symptoms or problems (clinical situation) in the same standardized way to objectify the assessment of students during the unified state qualification examination.

A standardized clinical case is a clinical case built on the principle of a standardized patient simulating a clinical case (clinical task), according to a given clinical scenario. As a rule, it displays a standard clinical situation.

Modeling a clinical situation is the creation of a computer simulation of a clinical situation with minimal or no visualization of data from instrumental studies, or a clinical situation artificially simulated based on theoretical concepts in a particular nosology using practice-oriented approaches from the point of view of evidence-based medicine, in the absence of a real clinical case/patient as a prototype.

A rare clinical case is a clinical case of a rare clinical situation, which, as a rule, reflects a non-standard clinical situation, as well as the difficulties of differential diagnosis and medical care.

A practical skill simulator is a computer simulation for practicing a skill on a particular subject of a discipline. It can be based on a combination of materials of additional methods of examining several or more patients, as well as a variety of clinical tasks for practicing the skills of diagnosing and treating a particular nosology.

An interactive analysis of a clinical case is a presentation of a clinical case in the format of a step-by-step analysis of a clinical situation with data from laboratory and instrumental research methods, theoretical data on a particular nosology, clinical international recommendations, interactivity and test simulators.
